The introduction to this site was assembled with Swish. If you have arrived through the "slow connection" be aware that if your sites are "Flash" or "Swish" based they may that 1-2 minutes to load with regular modem connections. If you are interested in "Flash" tutorials a great resource is at Flash MX - The Atomic Learning Library, by MediaSpinners As with any tool teachers must be selective. Will this work for your audience? You decide. If you decide that "Flash" may be an application you want to explore you might want to try "Swish" first. Teachers are busy people. Learning to use "complex" software cannot always be jammed into the schedule. This site is designed to give you an introduction to a "user friendly" product called SWISH. Lori Jarvis found this product long ago and used it in our first "Heroes" site. As you can see the product will allow sound, pictures, text....anything you can do with "Flash." In fact, it is advertised as "Flash" made easy. Like "IMOVIE" it is simple and intuitively based. Swish is a product that generates flash files just like "Flash." Swish costs $49.95 and is available on a 15 day trial basis. SWiSHzone.com Management includes David Michie, Founder and CEO, Hugh Boyd, Chief Operating Officer, John Collingwood-Smith, Director and Jason Bennett, Director. Swish is a commercially designed program that will help you learn to use Flash or run in place of Flash and generate "Flash" files. Swish will run on a PC or Mac. You can download a full trial version which will operate for 15 days. Then if you like it, you can purchase the full program. This site offers tutorials for beginners and downloads for examination, including "full flash sites", menus, splash pages, games,.....that are "freeware." You can experiment. Another helpful resource can be found at OpenSWF.org -- The Source for Flash File Format Information . Included in the site are links to tutorials at Flashmagazine - Tutorials . Macromedia also offers training and resources online at Macromedia - Educator Training . A great book on Flash is at Howstuffworks .
