Using Actions with Swish
Here are step-by-step instructions for adding actions to your Swish Movie.

 

  1. Start with the movie you created in the first tutorial .

  2. Select the Timeline Tab and select frame 17 in the row labeled Scene 1.

  3. Press Add Action and choose Stop from the actions menu. Press OK on the Action Properties menu. (when you move your mouse over the action you should see a tooltip indicating a "Stop" action)

The timeline should now look like this:

  1. Now select the type text object and click on the Actions Tab.

  2. Press Add Event and choose On Release from the menu. The Add Event button should change to Add Action, and the On Release properties should appear on the right side of the Actions tab.

 

 

  1. Press Add Action and choose Play from the menu.

The Action list should now look like this:

  1. Press Play on the Toolbar. The type text object will be typed out onto the screen then the movie will stop because of the stop action at frame 17. Now move your mouse over the type text object and click and release the mouse button. When the mouse is released the movie continues playing because of the Play Action that is triggered On Release. Press stop on the toolbar.

  2. Now go back to the Timeline Tab and select frame 24 in the row labelled Scene 1.

  3. Press Add Action and choose Stop from the actions menu. Press OK on the Action Properties menu.

  4. Now select the squeeze object and click on the Actions Tab.

  5. Press Add Event and choose On Press from the menu.

  6. Press Add Action and select Goto Frame from the menu. You should now see the Goto Frame properties on the the right side of the Actions Tab.

  7. Select "Scene 1" and Frame Number 0 (zero) in the Goto Frame properties. Also check the "Goto and Play" option.

The Actions Tab should now look like this:

  1. Press Add Action again and choose Goto URL from the menu. You should now see the Goto URL properties on the the right side of the Actions Tab.

  2. Enter "http://swishzone.com" into the Link edit box.

The Actions Tab should now look like this:

  1. Press Play on the Toolbar. The type text object will be typed out onto the screen then the movie will stop. Click and release the mouse button over the type text object. The movie will continue playing and run the squeeze animation. Now move the mouse over the squeeze object and press the mouse button. The movie will now goto frame zero of Scene 1 and start the typewriter animation again. At the same time the default browser is launched and displays the URL "http://swishzone.com". Close the browser and press stop on the toolbar.
