Take a look at API Rewards

Reflection Scaffold

Purpose

bulletWe began with discussions about the Digital Divide.  What happens when we create "no access" to the less affluent student?  Dr. Duane Campbell led the discussions.  In this project Phyllis Berry, Mike Troiano, and I investigated the positive and negative effects of cash rewards given as a result of API gains and made this discussion available to teachers and other interested parties online.

bulletThis project was presented online and was reviewed by Dr. Campbell, Bruce McVicker and the IMET3 cohort.
bulletA call for input was made and a survey on how API has effected teachers is also available at the project site.
bulletThis project is still in its original form.
bulletFuture follow-up in the API results and statistics may be used to find the effectiveness of the API program.

Faculty Review:

Our instructors reviewed API.  Their comments are below.

Dr. Duane Campbell said, "I hope that you leave it up for a couple of weeks. I will send it to students. I learn so much from each presentation. It makes working on Sat. worthwhile.  You are convincing me that the state program may have a positive side. I am less skeptical after seeing these.

Bruce McVicker said, "I do like the reference to Berlak. Hope people will read it and think about it.  I'm very impressed with the work your team did. Your presentation provides a pretty balanced picture of your schools, how they're responding to state mandates and how and where the data are processed. Nice job.  I like that one comment by a teacher who said that many of us are using our money to pay for our Master's Degrees. Good use of $.

The feedback on this site is awesome and deserved. There is a lot of it. Perhaps you might think of a way to organize some of the more quality statements (3 or 4) into a format that stands out and shows just how well this product was received. Overall, I love the color and format of your design for this page.
