Project Based

Helping the Heroes or How can You be a Hero?

From:  Building a Bridge to Knowledge for Every Child

by Judy Pace
Howard Gardner

In Project Based learning, students investigate solutions to real-world problems. Working in teams, they use knowledge from several disciplines to develop realistic products, such as multimedia presentations, as a culminating project. Compared with learning solely from textbooks, this approach has many benefits for students, addressing multiple intelligences, and including:

• Deeper knowledge of subject matter.
• Increased self-direction and motivation.
• Improved research and problem-solving skills.
• Better interpersonal skills and teamwork.
